Love is composed of a single soul inhabiting two bodies.

The school year had just started and Kristy knew just how terrible she was at Science. This year she told herself that she was going to study harder, and to make sure to keep at least a B average in her chemistry class. Not only was it a new school year but it was her first year in High school. Before the classes began she decided to head to the library to find a very specific book. Upon finding said book, she reached for it, unsuspecting of the people around her.

A senior boy had started his day off by riding his bike to school, leaving it on the parking and locking it in place at one of the poles soon bustling his way on time for his first morning classes; Math and P.E. After would be his early lunch break. Instead of going to the cafeteria to eat, he went to the library instead to find a certain book that he needed for his upcoming Science class.

The tall, brown haired boy looked around the aisle timidly, trying to avoid any interaction as much as possible. He wandered his finger trying to looked for the book by title. And there it was right before his eyes. Fingers clutched upon its bind just about ready to pull it out from the shelf….

Telling would consider him weak and telling than notion to his girlfriend will sound dumb, really dumb. He wants to prove to himself that he’s strong, but perhaps Kristy sees that as the total opposite of boldness. “I know, I know, but let’s just see how it goes zhen if it goes out of hand zhen ve vill tell on him for sure,” he said calmly to reassure. Soon enough she agreed which made things a lot simpler. However her body language spoke more than words, angry at such choice. Frowning, Alfons put a hand on her shoulder, “everyzhing vill be fine. Don’t vorry, alright? Ve can both do zhis togethzer.” He didn’t feel like it was enough but at least it was better than just standing there doing nothing. “Come on, lunch break ist almost over. Your next class ist geometry?”

Despite her facing away from him, she listened to what he had to say. Thats not as bas as an option. Hopefully he would keep his word on that. Eyes blinked as she felt his hand on her shoulder. She looked to him, sighing again. “I hope you know what you are doing. I dont know what kind of punishment Troy has in mind for me if you dont oblige.“ In all honesty, she was thinking the worst. That he would force himself on her. She soon nodded to the boy, giving a small smile. “I love it. Math is actually my favorite subject besides music.” She softly chuckled.

He nodded and said sincerely, “I vill protect you no mattah vhat. I promise.” Soon he embraced her from behind to comfort her. “Love you.” Then it loosened after she mentioned about Math, “vhhatt?~ Aftah all zhat teaching, I zhought you vould be fond it biology by now, haha~”

Alfons went back by the chair to retrieve both their backpacks, “come on, before ve get late.” Out they went down the busy halls bustling about to their destinations.

His words were convincing, but she was still worried. Unexpectedly he embraced her, and the warmth made her smile. “Love you too.” she whispered in return. Kristy rolled her eyes. “Are you kidding? Thats like… my third favorite.” she admitted, giving him another smile. Surely he’ll be happy to know its not her least favorite subject.

She grabbed her bag and hung it over her shoulder. “I suppose.” She followed him out and into the halls once more, letting her hand find his and intertwined their fingers. “So uh, whats your next class, hm?”

“It should be your first~” he joked. He gave her another squeeze around the shoulders.

They both headed out with haste, despite the crowded halls, “physics. It’s not too far from your next class at least.” They headed up the second floor by two flights of stairs, leaving him a bit out of breath, after ve depart, shall ve meet outside after school?”

“I-I suppose. Ve vill see.” Not many people talk to him all that much. He only got credited for his school work, not his personality. Kristy is helping confidence bloom at least.

Alfons turned to see the last person he wanted to see. Great. Troy stood headstrong, “what are ya two love birds doing here? Since when do folks eat in here? Pfftt oh I know, boring, nerdy kids like you,” the jock glared at Alfons. Oh he better watch his mouth, or else!

Alfons glared back not even budging from his seat,” at least it keeps zhe noisy vones out.”

“Why you little..” He stumped his foot forward, but calmed himself so he wouldn’t get carried away,” look, I didn’t come here to be lectured. I came here to negotiate with you.”

“A deal?” He looked over a Kristy to see if he should even listen at all…

Her head turned to see Troy in the doorway and she instantly groaned. Why…Why did he have to follow them here? Why is he so obsessed with wanting to make Kristy his? “Hey. Thats not very nice.” She mumbled. “Band has a lot more to offer than athletic skills…” Troy looked over to her shushing her softly. “Hush my lovely, You will soon realize why the jocks are a hundred times better than this little nerd here.” Kristy brows furrow, looking at him in disgust.

Troy stepped over to Alfons, making it clear he wanted to make some sort of deal. Kristy crossed her arms not liking the sound of it. “Like what?” She asked, sounding annoyed. Troy grinned devilishly, leaning in closer to the two so the others wouldnt hear him. “You let me copy your homework for the rest of the year. No giving false answers, and no stopping at any point….” He paused letting his head near Alfons’, His hot breath brushing against his ear. “Or pretty Kristy over here gets involved~” He backed away, feeling overly confident. “You just gotta do it until I graduate.”

‘ Hush my lovely, You will soon realize why the jocks are a hundred times better than this little nerd here.’

Alfons had to roll his eyes sarcastically. Troy was boring him really. Jocks may be physically fit, but do they really have the brains? he was about to state.

The nerdy boy had a weird hunch, but he listened carefully nonetheless. Again? The jock has been doing this frequently, but this? This was going overboard.

Eyes had drawn over to Kristy before he could answer, “vait, vait…hold on a minute. I can’t make a mistake? Uh hallo? I am only human. If I so happen to copy vord from vord, it vill be obvious zhat ve are cheating–zhe teachers vill know zhe pattern. Zhey are not idiots… Ve need to mix it a little bit…”

This was risky but how can she love him when the man is forcing? Kristy wouldn’t  give in, would she?

Troy rolled his eyes, of course Alfons would think about it too much. “What I meant was, Dont be giving me wrong answers to fail. Dont set me up.” He huffed angrily. He glared at the boy but looked over to Kristy with soft eyes, wanting her to be his prize… hoping Alfons would flub under the pressure.

Kristy looked away from Troy, beyond annoyed with his actions. “Are you really going to do this Alfons?” She asked, looking at him with worry. “You know I can kick Troys butt! What happened the other day was me just trying to protect you.” Troy mouthed her words with disgust. “Listen, you’ve got until the end of the day to make up your mind. I’ll be waiting for you by the buses.” With that, the boy hurried off, back to his group to finish lunch. Kristy sighed, hoping Alfons would do the right thing.

Alfons has been , if not then he wouldn’t get things done. “Mmm, I sure hope so,” he squinted a little.

Alfons instantly chuckled when she was becoming fearless, not caring if Troy heard. But the jock was right, he didn’t make a secure answer. Deep within he felt unsure, more so worried about Kristy being taken away from him. At least he had some time to think it over.

Alfons gently held onto her hands, “Kristy I know zhis ist such a silly deal…und I know you vouldn’t fall for him–not even a chance. But to keep Troy from harassing us, zhis ist zhe only chance to keep him at bay…”

She watched as Troy left the band room. Surely this wouldnt be a tough decision. Her eyes focused on the boy in front of her as he spoke, letting her hands fumble around with his. “Damn right I wouldnt…” She mumbled softly, still listening closely.

Kristy instantly huffed. “Alfons, why dont we tell on him? Hes threatening us and has even tried to start a fight. He could be arrested for what hes doing and for what hes already done.” Or maybe, at least be taught a thing or two. Thats what she would do if she were in his shoes, but deep down she has a feeling he wont even consider the idea. “I know you want to be strong and prove to me you’re brave but, it shouldnt be at the cost of a life–specifically mine.” She knows Troy wouldnt hurt her intentionally but she sees him being rather abusive.

Her eyes shifted, looking at their hands. “I just hope you know where I am coming from.”

Alfons frowned, knowing well how bullies can react in such situations, “but Kristy, I’ve been bullied countless times before und telling on zhem ist zhe last zhing you have to do to zhem. Zhey vill get angrier und avenge you in certain vays–it can be violent. Who knows vhat Troy vill do. See, he attempted to punch me.” He held onto her shoulders, “he might even hurt you..” Later he sighed, “I understand, but I am not trying to prove my vorth, I am trying to protect you und our status being typical students. I don’t vant us to stand out. I know it might vorsen if ve keep vaiting, but I don’t know how jet….”

The tall, brown haired boy looked around the aisle timidly, trying to avoid any interaction as much as possible. He wandered his finger trying to looked for the book by title. And there it was right before his eyes. Fingers clutched upon its bind just about ready to pull it out from the shelf….

His head tilted slightly, “sure, but I can outrun him. I nevah did tell you zhan I can run, if not zhen I cans hide somevhere. I must avoid having conflict at school. Ve might end up going to zhe principal’s office for detention–or vorse…suspension. I am sure he von’t try to hurt you. He’s aftah me. Just lie if somevone asks und make sure it’s zhe same story.” The bell suddenly rang. Well that’s their cue to leave. Alfons pressed a kiss onto her forehead, “I need to go, liebe. See at lunch, yah?” Soon he waved farewell before heading to class a few minutes late.

~~~~~~~~~~
It was noon and the halls were overcrowded by hungry students heading in the cafeteria. As usual, Alfons waited by the entrance before entering. Settling within a table will make it harder for her to see.
With enough eyes wandering about, the boy didn’t catch one eyeing on them–a man who was immeasurably jealous of the two; It was Troy, crossing his arms against his chest away the couple’s sight…
“Okay but you better be safe out there. I dont know what I would do if you got hurt.” She kissed him tenderly, soon pulling back to see him smile. “I dont want them to think you beat me. That you’re abusive…” She paused, taking in a little breath. “You think I should lie and say it wasnt from Troy?” If she did say it was from Troy, it could really bash his reputation, even if he was the best quarterback there. The bell rang after she asked, leaving no real time for him to answer. She leaned in to accept his gentle kiss and nodded to him before he headed off to his own class.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Around lunch time, everyone that knew Kristy were surrounding her. They couldnt help but ask about Alfons and where her black eye came from. “Guys, I promise. Its not from Alfons. Hes the sweetest guy Ive ever met here. Pllluuuussss~~ Hes not bad in bed either.” The girls squealed wanting to know more which made Kristy blush and laugh. “I wouldnt do that. Not unless hes comfortable with me spilling some secrets~” However, There were a set of eyes, watching her as she moved closer to where Alfons was.

Kristy waved goodbye to her friends, who were now on the topic of Alfons. She neared the boy, who had been waiting patiently for her. She quickly gave him a warm hug. “Hello handsome~” She cooed.

“Me? Nein…I am a nerd, remember?~ I am getting beaten, not giving it,” he joked. Well for whatever he had done, she did have a point. Fine, he will let it slip this time, but next time–if there is one–she needed to tell on him. That guy deserve anything. “Go ahead, I von’t stop you. Next time zhough, don’t. He had caused too much trouble zhan he already has.”

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
He saw her with a group of friends but they soon trailed off once she met up with him. He hugged her back, “hallo, beautiful~ How did science class go? No dissections jet? Oh I made you sandvich if you vere not planning on buying anyzhing. If not for latah zhen,” he took it out of the brown paper bag and offered it to her. He gazed around even if people were looking, “so vhere do you vant to sit? Here?” He picked the nearest one where it was a long table but empty on one end, enough for two of course.
He told her to tell on him, on Troy, if there were to be a next time. Hopefully there wouldnt be.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Kristy instantly smiled as he embraced her. “No, None of that yet. I think were still learning about plants.” She chuckled. He soon surprised her with a bagged lunch, a sandwich. She took the bag. “Thats so sweet of you Alfons. What kind is it?” She asked, peaking in the bag quickly.

She soon followed him into the cafeteria and looked at the other people sitting at the table briefly before she nodded. “This will do.” She sat down and placed her backpack beside her. “So, I was telling my friends about you. I did say that you were good in bed, but nothing more.” She blushed, hoping he wouldnt be upset. “Dont mind if they get curious and ask you. They really want to know.” She laughed.

However, she didnt pay much attention to what table they were at. All of Troys followers were there, eyeing them down until Troy joined them, wondering what he would do or say.

“Ach, how dull…Oh vell eventually. I hope you get a frog, a rat–oh! Or a squid!~” He loved that part. It’s better live than not.

“It’s bologna vizh lettuce und mayonnaise. It’s simple.”

For what he just heard though made him perk his eyes, “y-you did vhat? Oh my..Umm I don’t mind but ist it really necessary? I mean..isn’t it suppose to be between us only?” Surely she was proud, wanting to brag about him. “Vell zhanks I suppose. Surely I am not as gut as your othzer partners but I do try.” Quickly he changed the subject, rummaging into his lunch, “come on let’s eat, ja?”

Still Troy and his crew took distance, but eyed them with such hate. Perhaps they knew, the part when the two had fought in the park. Troy was a big mouth anyway.

Krisy disliked the idea of having to dissect something that was living. Yes, A plant is alive but its not the same to her as an animal. She shook her head. “No, I would call out. I dont want to torture such innocent creatures.” Perhaps that is where they differ.

Her eyes blinked. As generous as it was, it didnt sound appetizing. “I really appreciate you bringing something for me Alfons but, I think you should have it.” She said, scooting the bag back over to him.

Krisy couldnt help but giggle at him. She knows it must be embarrassing for him but they wouldnt stop asking her! Plus, she loves to brag about him. “I didnt go into detail. I just told them that well, we got intimate~” She snuggled up close to him as he didnt believe in himself. “Are you kidding me? You are the best one yet.” She kissed his cheek before returning to her own bag to get some food out.

Something felt off. Kristy felt like she was being stared at, which caused her to look around. Her body froze as she realized what table they were sitting at. “U-Uuhm, Alfons…L-Lets not get too comfortable.” She whispered, her eyes quickly diverting away from Troy and his friends. “I think we need to move.”

He frowned not wanting to stir anything further, so he remained silent. And with her denying the offer of his food was even hurtful. Did she not like meat?

“But..But I have two. Are you sure?” Well she didn’t look like she was joking. “Vell alright.” He put away back to his bag.

“Oh haha…I knew zhat. Vell zhat’s fine I suppose.” He slightly blushed, “I-I am? Surely you’re just saying zhat but danke. A sheepish smile formed once she kissed him.

Though seeing her uneasy made him question. He was never good with his surroundings and when it’s loud with many eyes, it’s even more difficult.  “Vhy, vhat’s vrong?” But he followed her lead, “alright, vhere to? Outside? I von’t mind. I vill follow you.”

She noticed his frown. ‘Too bad, You signed up to be with an animal lover.’ She mused in thought.  However, even when she politely refused his offer, he seemed even more upset. “Yeah. I-I dont like mayonnaise on my sandwiches.” She probably sounded weird but it was the truth. Hopefully he wouldnt feel so bad after that.

“No you didnt silly~” She chuckled. Her lips curved as she caught him blushing. “I am not just saying that!” Too bad the moment didnt last for much longer.

Thankfully Alfons agreed to move. “Uhm.” She remained quiet, picking up her lunch bag in one hand and taking his hand in her other. She hurried off, wanting to find a place to hide from Troy and his friends…but where could they go during lunch time? Aha! Kristy jogged out of the cafeteria, down the hall and to a separate building. The band room was in there, thats where they would be safe. Once in the band room Kristy paused to catch her breath. “Sorry…Alfons. We…We sat a Troys table and I wanted to get away as quickly as possible.” There were a few other students eating there but they paid no mind to the two.

“Oh s-sorry.”

He chuckled, rubbing the back of his neck, “haha~ I am not used to compliments, so forgive me.”

Out they went, away from the noisy people. Where are they going? They went into the their music class where it was nice and quiet. Good. But he must’ve been blind to even know. “Vow, I didn’t even notice. Zhanks for saving our hide–vell mostly mine, haha~” Alfons scooted two chairs for them to sit at, place his backpack beside it started to much onto his sandwich, “are ve allowed to even eat in here? Oh wait, I see a garbage can. Gut.” He opened his juice pouch that was for kids, sipping it by a straw, “so vere zhey murmuring to zhemselves? I hope zhey are not plotting anyzhing…”

I care about your safety, not mine.” He smiled,” it looks fine to me. Us being togethzer now? I doubt zhey vould. Zhey vill vonder I am sure.

~~~~~~~~~~
It was noon and the halls were overcrowded by hungry students heading in the cafeteria. As usual, Alfons waited by the entrance before entering. Settling within a table will make it harder for her to see.
With enough eyes wandering about, the boy didn’t catch one eyeing on them–a man who was immeasurably jealous of the two; It was Troy, crossing his arms against his chest away the couple’s sight…
“Okay but you better be safe out there. I dont know what I would do if you got hurt.” She kissed him tenderly, soon pulling back to see him smile. “I dont want them to think you beat me. That you’re abusive…” She paused, taking in a little breath. “You think I should lie and say it wasnt from Troy?” If she did say it was from Troy, it could really bash his reputation, even if he was the best quarterback there. The bell rang after she asked, leaving no real time for him to answer. She leaned in to accept his gentle kiss and nodded to him before he headed off to his own class.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
He saw her with a group of friends but they soon trailed off once she met up with him. He hugged her back, “hallo, beautiful~ How did science class go? No dissections jet? Oh I made you sandvich if you vere not planning on buying anyzhing. If not for latah zhen,” he took it out of the brown paper bag and offered it to her. He gazed around even if people were looking, “so vhere do you vant to sit? Here?” He picked the nearest one where it was a long table but empty on one end, enough for two of course.
He told her to tell on him, on Troy, if there were to be a next time. Hopefully there wouldnt be.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
